4 Tips for Your Spring Wedding

Spring means new growth, ideas, and ventures, and it can be the perfect time to begin a new life with your special loved one. No wonder many people have their wedding in the promising springtime months. Here are some ideas for taking advantage of springtime’s natural beauty!

Love is blooming!

Flowers

This is when buds and fresh blooms spring, so take advantage of this prolific time. Add seasonal flowers to your décor and bridal bouquets. Think vases of hyacinth hyacinth hyacinth hyacinths and lily of the valley to tables and crannies. Look for other seasonal flowers to add to the wedding bouquets -- lilacs, tulips, peonies, daffodils, and ranunculus.

Menu

Set the table, but make it Spring!

Besides the traditional fare, think of fresh spring veggies and lighter dishes to jump-start the season. Asparagus is sprouting and ready by early March and stays in season through the early summer. Tender, sweet peas are also a harbinger of spring and can be added to any number of dishes, from risotto to soups. Now that the snow has lifted, consider highlighting grilled meat and fish to remind everyone of that exquisite outdoor flavor, and add a simple spring salad to round out the meal. And don’t forget to add some refreshing drinks that say spring – whether spirited or non-alcoholic – lemonade, iced tea, and tonics are the perfect offering for this time of year.

Attire

Choose fabrics that are lighter in weight than those for fall and winter but not so sheer that everyone will freeze on a chilly day. Spring weather isn’t always predictable, so think about layering for flexibility. Shawls, scarves, jackets, and cardigans in spring colors and prints add warmth and that pop that’s so needed this time of year. Think light purples and lilacs with a pop of red, spring green, and pale blues, with bold yellows, and bring in the entire pink spectrum from the palest baby pink to dramatic fuchsias.

Venue

A view as beautiful as the union!

Spring is a popular time of year for weddings, so book far enough to grab the backdrop you’ve always wanted. Even though springtime is delightful with gentle sunshine and warm breezes, a beautiful day isn’t guaranteed. Book a place with an indoor option, such as Boston Winery, and see some lovely photos of their spring weddings. Having the flexibility to go indoors during a shower can eliminate a lot of anxiety for everyone involved.

Boston Winery was listed as “Top 3 Standout Wedding Venues in Boston”! With our waterfront location and view of the Boston Harbor, there is no better place to say your vows and begin your new journey.
