Have A Happy Hallowine With Creatively Creepy Cocktails
Halloween is almost upon us...a time of magic, mystery, and the macabre. From food to décor and so much more, there’s no shortage of scary surprises and spooky facelifts. But what about your favorite wines?
With just a few creepy tweaks, you’d be shocked at just how spooky your wine can become...
The TRICK — Make a boo-zy cocktail that’s simply to die for:
The “Hallowine Sangria”
This frighteningly-fun cocktail will make the perfect complement to a spooky grown-up gathering. The cocktail is full of blood-red wine to really set the stage for your Halloween bash.
Best of all?… It is easy to prepare, fun to look at, and even better to enjoy with friends!
Ingredients:
1/4 cup sugar
2 bottles of Cabernet Sauvignon (or another red wine of your choice)
1 cup of orange juice
1/4 cup orange liqueur (such as Triple Sec)
24 ounces club soda, chilled
2 oranges, thinly sliced (plus additional for garnish)
1 cup fresh blackberries, plus additional for garnish
Bonus: Add dry ice to really ramp up the scare factor of this creepy cocktail!
The TREAT — The “terrifying trio” for your Hallowine bash:
Candy Corn & Prosecco:
Whether you love it or hate it, there’s no arguing that candy corn is a staple (albeit controversial) Halloween treat. When pairing wine with candy corn, we recommend prosecco, as the clean flavor tends to mellow out the sweetness of the candy corn nicely.
Hershey’s Chocolates & Red Zinfandel:
Nothing says Halloween like chocolate, and nothing says chocolate like Hershey’s! When pairing with a Hershey’s bar or kisses, you want to look for a wine that will complement the creaminess of the milk chocolate, and red zinfandel has our vote.
Skittles & Sparkling Rosé:
Colorful, fun, and oh-so-fruity, Skittles are a Halloween favorite for good reason. The bright and effervescent flavor of sparkling rosé is surely the glass of gold at the end of the sweet Skittles rainbow.
In Summary:
If you’re looking for the best way to get you in the spirit this year, there are few ways better than this! So put on your costumes, uncork your wines, and celebrate the holiday safely and responsibly.
