Our Top 5 Picks for Fall Season Sipping
Fall is here, and pumpkin spiced EVERYTHING is back too! But there must be another way to celebrate the autumn season without artificial flavors - how about wine?! Here are our top 5 picks for fall seasonal sipping to honor this favorite season!
2016 Mountain Barbera
This red wine is the perfect wine to enjoy when the summer sun disappears, and the golden leaves start to peep out. Barbera is light in body and flavor with notes of cherry, raspberry, and lavender, all complemented by a vanilla and chocolate finish. Pair this red wine with dishes with mushrooms, root vegetables, and rich, dark meats to pull all of the flavors this wine offers!
2. Bread and Roses Rosé
When people think of Rosé, they believe it's best enjoyed in the spring and summer, but don't put that bottle on the shelf! Our Grenache Rosé is enjoyed all times of the year, especially in autumn. The Grenache grape allows this wine to pair very well with the aromatic spices we love in autumn. Pair our Rosé with an Indian dish or a spicy pork stew and enjoy!
3. 2017 Cabernet Franc
Cabernet Franc is a more traditional fall sipping wine, it is our driest wine, and it shies away from fruity notes and gives more peppercorn and bell pepper notes. Pair this straightforward wine with a hearty meal like roasted duck or venison, and warm yourself up on those chillier fall evenings!
4. 2016 Boston Winery Chardonnay
If you prefer white wine all year round, you don't need to choke down a red to sip wine in the autumn! Our Chardonnay is unoaked and finished in steel barrels, which means that it is crisper than a buttery chardonnay. Typically we recommend pairing this wine with raw shellfish, like oysters, but a fatty salmon with browned butter would pair delightfully with this crisp wine.
5. Petit Syrah with Mulling Spices
Petit Syrah is the perfect wine to be combined with mulling spices and enjoyed on the colder autumn evenings. Because of the high tannins and vanilla notes of this red, it is the perfect wine to be heated up with these spices and made into a delicious seasonal beverage!
