Stretch and Sip: Relax at Our Yoga and Wine Events

The Boston Winery is known for being an expert on pairings, and this one is as unique as they come. Our yoga and wine events combine the deep relaxation of yoga with a delicious wine tasting to complete the experience. What better way to spend a lazy Sunday morning – socializing and relaxing in a welcoming environment? We’d like you to meet yoga instructor Lily Lynch, who will guide you through the pose and pour experience.

Imagine balancing a glass of wine while doing this?!

Q: What actually is a yoga and wine event? Do you pose while balancing glasses of wine on your back?

A: That would be quite a sight now, wouldn’t it? It’s an entire yoga class, followed by a wine tasting and artisanal snacks.

Q: What can one expect to experience in the yoga class?

A: The Boston Winery holds the 1-hour classes on Sunday, so it goes without saying that it’s a relaxed Sunday morning atmosphere. I like to play acoustic music by artists like Andra Day and Klingande. We’ll do yoga, then cool down with some meditation and breathing, and then continue the happy vibes with delicious wine and light food such as homemade pizza.

Q: Can beginners take the class?

A: Yes. It’s all levels of flow where you can go at your own pace. I walk around the class and am happy to help people by modifying the poses based on someone’s physical state and yoga experience.

Lily is a skilled teacher with many years of experience!

Q: What is your background in teaching yoga?

A: I completed my 200 training hours in high school and got my certification when I was 17. I taught while taking college classes at Quinnipiac University and had a great opportunity to teach in Belize; I couldn’t turn that down.

Q: What a fantastic opportunity. How long were you there?

A: I went with a friend who opened a yoga studio at a new hotel on an island off Belize. I took classes to get certified to teach others to become yoga teachers and completed my 300 hours in only six months. Then I came back to Massachusetts and taught at different gyms around the state, and now I’m teaching beginner levels for kids.

The person behind the downdog!

Q: Do you have a favorite type of yoga?

A: I like doing aerial yoga. That’s when you use silks suspended from the ceiling. But we won’t be doing that in these classes. Maybe one day.

Q: How do we sign up?

A: Go to Boston Winery’s website and sign up! Remember, whether it’s your first or 50th class...there are options for everyone. Hope to see you there!
