Intimate Wedding Trends That Are Here to Stay
Changes are coming to Massachusetts weddings, and it’s a big deal! With a full year of rescheduling and adhering to strict guidelines, planning weddings has been challenging but still beautiful!
Intimate weddings have brought on new wedding trends, and even though venues are now able to host up to 150 people and dance floors are back, some wedding trends were developed out of necessity that may be here to stay! Boston Winery has always been known for intimate weddings with our rustic, waterfront venue. Here’s a list of things that we’ve seen with weddings that we think are here to stay!
Less Stiff, More Comfortable
One of the significant patterns we’ve seen in weddings is that things are more relaxed and more flexible than ever before. Wedding decor is more colorful and casual! It’s all about creativity and less about formal traditions. Guests are encouraged to wear what they want to the big event; it’s a mismatched form of expression!
Informal seating charts have been popular as well due to the more intimate guest lists. With fewer people invited, it’s less critical who sits at the same table, and some tables may have six guests while others have only four. Flexibility was based on necessity this past year for weddings, but we think it will be here to stay for future events.
Smaller Parties, Bigger Personalities
Weddings may have been smaller this past year, but they sure did set the bar for creativity! With smaller venues and smaller guest lists, couples could afford more grand decor and incorporate fun activities!
Bright and colorful floral arrangements and accents have dawned many intimate weddings to keep the romantic feeling that larger weddings naturally emanate. Family heirlooms and vintage decor has also been popular lately as a way to honor and remember loved ones who can’t be here to celebrate.
Smaller parties also mean fun activities for you and your wedding guests! Wedding receptions have incorporated lawn games like corn hole and croquet to liven up their parties and create more memories.
Up Close and Personal
Usually, speeches are cringeworthy, filled with embarrassing puns and memories shared with distant relatives who have known you since you were in diapers but maybe didn’t want to hear about your trip to Vegas that one time.
Now that weddings are more intimate and guest lists are more personal, you can laugh along freely with every embarrassing speech because the chances are that most of your guests were a part of that awkward moment. If they weren’t, they know you and your partner well enough that they can appreciate the sentiment.
With smaller guest lists, favors can be more personal, too! Table settings can be tailored uniquely to each guest. With fewer people, you can spend more time with everyone and create more memories with all of your friends and family. You and your guests will be able to enjoy each other’s company more and celebrate more closely, and isn’t that what weddings are all about?
Weddings are beginning to look a little more like they used to, with guest lists increasing and dance floors reinstated, but we hope these trends that we’ve seen continue in the years to come!
