Welcome to the Farmers Market! Find Your in-Season Produce and the Wines to Pair them With!

It’s not challenging to create delectable meals when the ingredients are in season, and the wine you choose to pair with those ingredients will only enhance the flavor profile of your meal! Here’s a guide to what’s fresh at the farmers market this Spring and which wines will pair best with your produce!

Kale and Sauvignon Blanc

The ULTIMATE super food with the most delicious beverage!

The ULTIMATE super food with the most delicious beverage!

This leafy vegetable, once called a super-food because it is rich in vitamins. You can find this green in salads and smoothies alike, but which wine is best to pair with this healthy veggie? We recommend Sauvignon Blanc. This green is strong in green flavor, and Sauvignon Blanc generally plays well with vegetables because of its grassy flavor and high acidity.

Pineapple and Riesling

A sweet treat that’s only made sweeter with a little vino!

A sweet treat that’s only made sweeter with a little vino!

Who doesn’t love this delicious tropical fruit? The pineapple’s versatility allows it to be presented in dessert or featured as an accompaniment to a salty, fattier dish like ham or pizza! Its high acidity and sweetness would pair well with a Riesling. Pineapple is generally paired with fattier meat, and both of these wines are great additions for both the rich protein and this tropical fruit.

Rhubarb and Brachetto

Nothing like some bubbly with dessert.

Nothing like some bubbly with dessert.

Every course needs a wine pairing, and that includes Strawberry Rhubarb Pie - Springtime’s favorite dessert! Enjoy a nice glass of our Brachetto with this tasty dessert. The effervescent and slight sweetness of this Boston Winery favorite wine evens out the tartness of the rhubarb.

Mushrooms and Zinfandel

Mushrooms add depth and earthiness to every dish!

Mushrooms add depth and earthiness to every dish!

A controversial vegetable, but sophisticated and earthy nonetheless. Mushrooms can be used as a delectable side, meatless main, or as an inventive sauce! Pair these fungi with a spicy Zinfandel. Zinfandel is full of dark fruit flavors like blackberries, black cherries, and a smokey element with black pepper. The fruit flavors of Zinfandel contrast nicely with the earthy tones of the mushrooms.
